The Mountain at M.O.N.I.F.F. Posted by Colleen Mason on 25th Apr 2018 This past weekend, our home town of Keene hosted the sixth Monadnock International Film Festival. The event draws fantastic submissions from around the world and brings attention to the lives of people around the globe that would not normally fall within our everyday experiences. The four day festival had an impressive program, which included Silas, the story of Liberian activist Silas Siakor, who fights corruption and environmental destruction in Africa; and Soufra, the wholesome story of how social entrepreneur Mariam Shaar rallied the women of her Lebanon-based refugee camp to start a successful catering business. It goes beyond saying that all the films featured during the festival were visual works of art, which inspire deep introspection about the human journey – how to live a life of meaning and purpose; how to create a more just society; and how we can appreciate and protect the natural world. We played our part in supporting the arts by creating custom shirts for the festival, featuring the M.O.N.I.F.F. logo. We look forward to being part of this celebration of art next year #MONIFF Facebook Email Print Twitter
