Patrick Lamontagne

Patrick LaMontagne is a cartoonist and digital painter who never went to art school or planned on a creative life, but now there’s nothing he’d rather do. Since the late 90s, he’s been drawing and painting digitally, starting with one of the first available digital drawing tablets.

While Patrick began his art career as a nationally syndicated editorial cartoonist, painting a grinning grizzly bear in 2009 changed everything. That single piece of art launched a new side of his profession, one that's now defined by whimsical wildlife brought to life in his signature style. These character-filled critters have overtaken his creative pursuits, and he couldn’t imagine enjoying anything more

Patrick has lived in Banff and Canmore in the Canadian Rockies with his wife, Shonna, for over 30 years.
