Vincent Hie

I have a deep love, appreciation, and interest in the creative arts. The beauty, history, and various forms of art, from painting and sculpture to music and modern architecture. I just love to draw, paint and to be inspired by other artists, and most noticeably movies and comic books.

I have been drawing and painting as far back as I can remember. In 2005, after being a practicing Psychologist for two years, I have decided to follow my passion with a lifechanging switch to become a professional artist. The career switch wasn’t easy in the beginning, even more so that I had to change from traditional tools (as I’m old school), to digital hard-and software to succeed commercially. Using Photoshop and a tablet, it took me more than 2 years to be fully accustomed with these digital tools.

Nowadays I consider these tools as a natural extension of my creative mind and hand.

If there is one thing that defines my painting style and technique is that it's highly articulated. Clarity and attention to detail are key elements. I also strive to be an all-round artist who is comfortable with many genres and themes, from wildlife to dark art to humorous to Fantasy and Sci-Fi. One of the most enjoyable parts of my work is the powerful way for me to express myself, communicate emotions, and explore my creative potential.

My journey as an artist is a never-ending process to improve my skills and understanding art in all its facets.
